people want Lincoln Biscuits back

Lincoln Biscuits are just about the nicest biscuit ever created, with tea, coffee or just on their own. They were made by McVities until 2007 when disaster struck and they were removed from production.

Jacob's, also part of United Biscuits, make one but these are only available in Ireland and cost a fortune if you wanted them delivered.

We need either the original shortbread biscuits being produced back here by McVities or for Jacob's to start selling here in the UK.

Let's see if we can't get these little beauties back on the tea trolley to be enjoyed for current and future generations.

In order to stand a chance of getting these little slices of sugary bliss back we need more signatures. If you are great at social media then share this with all your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, Google+ infact any and all and let's get so many signatures that McVities have to listen to our plea.

Lincolns were my hubbie's favourite biscuit and I distinctly remember them for their melt-in-the-mouth quality and the lovely bobbley pattern. So come on you bakers, make lots of people happy and bring them back!

Can't even find any on Ebay to buy in from Ireland :( What a fanstatic this biscuit was and would be if it returned! Me: Please bring back Lincoln biscuits. These are now but a happy childhood memory. I think you will find that there is quite a movement of people online who are desperate to see them back on the shelves in England. Right now I could oh so happily polish off a nice stack of lovely sugary bobbly Lincolns but alas all I can do is dream and hope. Yours Lincoln bereft, C M McVitie's response: Dear Mr M Thank you for contacting us concerning your inability to find McVitie's Lincoln 200g. We regret to advise you that these are now discontinued and are unlikely to be manufactured again. Before any product reaches the shelves, extensive and costly product development and research is undertaken. Only a small percentage of new product concepts reach the retail outlet and even then, products may easily fail to gain the necessary appeal. Sadly, therefor

In answer to the question as to why they were discontinued as far as I can remember I think there was a flood or something which prevented production for a number of months and then they couldn't get their space back on supermarket shelves. These need to come back I can almost taste them as I think about making a cuppa ;-)

These bring back wonderful memories of having tea with my Mum and Nan when I was little. I remeber she didn't have any teeth so would always dunk her Lincoln. I always imagined she did that as the bumps would have otherwise hurt her gums. They must bring these back as they were a lovely biscuit that frankly has no comaprison amongst todays offerings.
